Thailand medical services
While I was in Thailand this year I chose to have surgery for a hernia. After getting clearance from my medical insurance I went to Bangkok hospital where I met the surgeon. After the consultation I was admitted to the hospital where I was given a private room in what looked to be a hotel. Located next door to the hospital.

The room was large and inviting with a large full size bathroom. The bed was the standard hospital bed. With a couch and kitchen setup. My Thai Girlfriend was able to stay with me the whole time I was in. But she had to get her own food. The day of the surgery I was placed on a gurney and wheeled from my room to the hospital which to me was strange as some portions of the trip were outside. Then into the operating room where it looked like I was on the bridge of the enterprise as the room was full of monitors. This I assumed was because I was having laparoscopic surgery. (Laparoscopy is a type of surgical procedure that allows a surgeon to access the inside of the abdomen (tummy) and pelvis without having to make large incisions in the skin. )
My anesthesiologist was great as when they started to hook me up to the IV the next thing I knew was I was being wakened by three nurses asking me to wake up and that everything was done.
All and all my experience was top notch. I highly recommend Thailand for medical care.
